Your position
We are searching a Lab Technician with a strong background in cell culture and the desire to support our stem cell-based cardiac research.
Your main responsibilities are
- The expansion of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their differentiation into heart muscle cell
- To perform cell-based experiments including the generation of 3D engineered tissues
- To perform quality controls, such as e.g. assessing cell purity after differentiation, microbial contamination and cell line identity, gene expression profiling by qPCR, and Western Blotting etc.
- Support organization and maintenance of the lab by ordering, sterilization, cleaning etc.
- Electronic documentation
Your profile
You are a Lab Technician with diploma or similar degree and are experienced in cell culture and in vitro experimentation. Persons holding a higher qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. biology, biomedical science, biotechnology) will be favored, particularly if competition is high.
The successful candidate is highly motivated, eager to acquire new skills, and can work independently in a team environment. A good self-organization and high standards in technical reproducibility and documentation are of highest importance.
Fluent English (speaking and writing) is mandatory. Fluent German is desirable.
You will also need to show:
- Excellent oral communication skills in order to work effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organization
- The ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems
- Time management skills in order to work on several different projects at the same time
- Flexibility in order to work with and provide support for a number of people
- Teamwork skills and patience
